A ribbon brooch from the Victorian era circa 1880s being a flat cross section gold ribbon the knot of which is decorated in royal blue enamel arabesque pattern. To the reverse the brooch features a small, round locket currently enclosing a small piece of cream coloured, ribbed fabric. Fastening with a hinge pin and C scroll hook, the brooch has the added benefit of a gold safety chain. No hallmark, testing as approx. 15ct gold. Measures approx. 2 inches x 1.5 inches maximum. Weight 11.5gms.
